Our Projects

Text that reads "Iowa Food Security Forum."

JustGive is a new organization, but we're already getting to work. In partnership with the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC), we're currently planning our first project: the Iowa Food Security Forum.

The lowa Food Security Forum aims to find effective, long-term solutions to food insecurity in lowa by understanding the diverse perspectives of food insecure Iowans. The forum is scheduled to take place in Des Moines, Iowa in the spring of 2026 and will consist of a large, one-day event organized using a unique model known as a "deliberative poll."

Our deliberative poll will recruit a large sample of food insecure lowans, each of whom will be given access to briefing materials, plenary sessions with experts, and small-group discussions. The event will conclude by administering a questionnaire to each participant, and the results will be used by local policymakers and nonprofits to inform their responses to lowa's food insecurity problem.

For more information on deliberative polling, check out Stanford University's Deliberative Democracy Lab. To support the event, you can donate using the link below.
